Redefining Conferences for the Networked Age

When was the last time an event challenged your assumptions, and made you think?

The Supernova conference, organized by Kevin Werbach and The Wharton School, is where technology and business influencers, leading investors, top innovators and thinkers come together to debate the future of the connected world.

Supernova 2008: June 16-18, San Francisco, CA

Supernova 2008 will challenge your assumptions about what a technology conference can be.  We will post additional details on next year’s event over the coming months.

If you are interested in proposing a speaker, please note that, although we welcome submissions by email to , we select the vast majority of speakers by invitation to create the best possible experience for our attendees.

An Extended Virtual Conversation

Supernova is a real-world event enhanced by an extended online community.  Although there is no substitute for the on-site interactions and networking, we welcome your virtual participation through our unique array of content and connectivity tools.

The Conversation Hub features a thought leader group blog, microblogging channel, news feeds, podcasts, live session audio streaming, live video, photo feeds, and video reports.  The Community Connection offer social networking tools such as people search, wikis, and IRC chat, for connecting and interacting with the Supernova community.  Join us!

Supernova 2007: Defining the New Network

The most recent Supernova conference examined the effects of an increasingly connected world on business, life, and public policy.  As disparate physical and social networks link with one another, a new societal network is rapidly evolving.

The New Network is greater than the sum of its parts.  It challenges us to re-create everything from the software and hardware we use...to the business models we employ...to the information and entertainment we encounter...to the ways we work and play.  At Supernova 2007, we explored these new challenges.  Session and Connected Challenge topics included:

Dark Matter: Are We Missing the Real Internet Economy? " Virtual Life or Virtual Hype? " Enterprise IT: The Next Great Disruption? " Better Broadband? " Is “User-Generated Content” the Future, or the Last Gasp of the Past? " Do You Know Where Your Identity Is? " Social Media, Social Commerce, Social Communications " Making Computers Smart: A Dumb Idea? " Is the Network Neutrality Battle Over… or Has it Just Begun? " Conversational Advertising: Attention vs. Engagement " Will Copyright Kill Social Media? " Innovation in the Age of Abundance " Does the Internet Need an Upgrade?
