Location: the Palace Hotel
In a number of areas, politicians and regulators are considering policy changes that could have major impacts on the technology sector. Internet-based companies -- and their users -- have not traditionally been regulated as telecommunications providers. However, debates over network interconnection, broadband regulation, intellectual property, voice over IP, Internet governance, among other topics, could change the regulatory environment dramatically. Meanwhile, industry developments are breaking down old boundries between industries, and between network operators and the applications and content they carry.
The policy seminar will feature experts from different parts of the technology and telecom industry, who will highlight key legal and regulatory developments.
