The competition was intense, with nearly 100 impressive submissions. The companies selected all have extraordinary potential to create new markets and shape the connected future. Most launched or made significant announcements at the conference.
Virtual Showcase in Second Life
Live video of the Connected Innovators presentations was streamed into the Supernova Lounge in Second Life, the massively multiplayer online virtual world. Linden Lab, the developers of Second Life, was on-hand for demos at the Connected Innovators showcase at Supernova. Second Life residents could interact and view information on Supernova, TechCrunch, Yahoo!, and the Connected Innovators on a special heads-up display created by Electric Sheep Co.
